HOW TO TRAVEL + COME HOME WITH A BETTER GUT

Travel -- something we all love. To get away, see new places, wander new streets, and if you're like me, eat at every place you've previously googled, reviewed, read about, or been suggested to go visit.

On my recent trip to Sydney, we ate out more than not, moving around with weddings, classes, meetings and more, and as much as I love a cafe brekkie, having them everyday, plus lunches, and most dinners at restaurants around town can get a little monotinous. And ontop of that, if they are not nutritious meals, it can be very easy to feel sluggish, bloated, fuller than normal and a little less than your usual amazing self, quite quickly.

So how can we make sure that when we're traveling we eat just as well (if not better) than we do when we're at home? And then return from our trip feeling better than before?

WHAT A #28DAYGUTCLEANSE CAN DO TO YOU

If you've been following me on Instagram you would have known that I was doing a #28daygutcleanse for the past month. The reason I wanted to embark on such a thing was because the way we are taught at college to heal a leaky gut, can be quite a lengthy process, and I wondered if clients would really see and feel tangible results soon enough to want to continue with these sometimes restricted (and long) eating plans. It was upon reading about another process, essentially the same, but done in 28 days, I had to try it for myself - that and still feeling gut symptoms myself, I wanted to clear this all up.

MY DAY ON A PLATE - WHAT A NUTRITIONIST EATS FOR FUN

I often get asked what exactly I eat in a day. I understand why - I used to want to know every little morsel other health practitioners put into their mouths as well. If they ate it surely it would be amazing for me too. Well, no, not always. But nonetheless, I am letting you in on what my day on a plate looks like, but as with everyone who asks, I maintain the suggestion that this is just that - a suggestive dietary plan. Try it or don't, but feel and notice what works for you.

FOR THE LOVE OF GHEE + RECIPE

Have you had ghee before? Heard of ghee before? It's used a lot in Indian and Ayruvedic cooking if not, and is the most incredible tasting thing ever!

Ghee (also known as clarified butter) is pure milk fat. It contains no lactose and no milk proteins, and for that reason it is generally well tolerated by most people, yes even those who show an allergy to other dairy products, and GAPS patients. For the same reason, ghee does not burn in your pan like butter can.

WHY BONE BROTH IS THE BOMB + RECIPE

Here it is – the Bone Broth post. Most of you know I had followed a vegetarian-vegan-raw vegan diet collectively for over 15yrs up until last year when I made some changes due to my health. Most recently the addition of bone broth has been thrown in the mix. I wanted to try this as I felt it was what my body needed, and rationally it made sense being good for gut health, loaded with minerals and easy on digestion. I had read and heard of other people’s amazing experiences with it and wanted to try it for myself.

POO TALK PART 2

So how’d you all go with my last post? Not too put off I hope.

If so, well too bad, ‘cause here’s Part 2. I wanted to go a little further into our ‘poo’ topic as I think it’s something that no-one really talks about it (properly) or knows about… a lot of people get squeamish at the mere though of it and whenever I ask people how often they go if it’s relevant when they come to see me at the health food store, I get a non-existent answer. Like I said, no-one wants tot talk about it.

WANNA LEARN MORE ABOUT YOUR POO? PULL UP A STOOL

Ok somewhat 'controversial' in the sense that would anyone actually write about that? is my post today.

It was Monday morning that the idea for this post came to my mind. And I actually got so excited about it I finished getting ready for my day before jumping online and beginning the draft for this - as I'm jetting off to work in about an hour and know I won't finish it.

So what am I talking about?
