Aromatherapy - the use of essential oils - is an ancient modality that has been used throughout the centuries for things like healing and beauty, medicine and mood enhancement. Whether it is in a vaporiser or diffuser, a bath or compress essential oils are powerful and highly effective way to keep the mind and body healthy and well. And now in 2019, these are no longer considered a "hippy thing" found at the bottom of the bathroom cupboard. These little amber bottles are finding their way into homes across the globe, as more and more people are taking their health and wellness into their own hands. And so we should.

I was first introduced to essential oils in high school when I learnt (and then experienced) that rosemary could support me when studying for my exams, and lavender or peppermint could help if my head was pounding. So they are all I had.

Then in my early 20's a friend gave me a couple more that were food grade so I had a ball using lemon and orange in my raw food cooking.

And later on during my nutrition studies I worked in numerous health food stores, selling them to customers who came in asking for them (and that's literally all I did as I couldn't educate them on these oils in anyway as I had no idea how to use them myself).

I knew nothing about them. I thought they were just pretty smells.

Oh you too? Walk with me then girl and I can teach you a thing or two about them now...

Essential oils at the simplest, are powerful plant medicines. Often called the life force of the plant or the heart and soul of the plant, without these precious oils the plant wouldn’t exist (hence the term essential). But the real kicker is that their very function is to carry nutrients into the cells of plants. So essential oils have the same role in plants as blood does in the human body - to carry nutrients into cells.

How powerful are they though? Let me share you this - the most accurate and up to date research on nutrient density comes from Mat LaLonde, a Harvard Phd in organic chemistry, and one smart guy, so let's look to him - According to his scale of nutrient-density (source), herbs and spices are the second most nutrient dense foods on the planet (after organ meats which makes this liver pâté lover very happy). And a pure un-adulterated therapeutic grade essential oil is always more potent than the fresh or dried herb it came from due to manufacturing and availability (source). One drop of doTERRA peppermint oil is the equivalent to 28 cups of peppermint tea. Po. Wer. Ful!

Also, Mama Natures medicine's are recognisable to our bodies. They are not at all like a synthetic, man-made chemical pharmaceutical drug. They support our bodies. They help bring us back to our happy pace, our set point, our foundation ~ we call this homeostasis ~ and then our bodies have the ability to heal themselves.

This is now more important than ever before as we are surrounded by an ever-increasing barrage of toxins, pollutants and chemicals in our environment. If we can use something as simple and effective as pure therapeutic-grade essential oils to assist us in (re)building nourishment, decreasing toxins, and detoxifying our body and surroundings, why the hell are we not all doing it?

As I started learning little by little about doTERRA essential oils, I fell more in love with what they could do and I felt using them. At the most basic, it was fun for me. I felt good using them. But as I dived deeper, I realised these were incredible healing tools I could literally keep in my back pocket, and I slowly started incorporating them into my life in the following ways:

1. To turbocharge my health and wellness

My nutrition, hydration, breathing, yoga, workouts, sleep, digestive health, immune support, emotions and mental wellbeing. All these improved with the addition of pure essential oils in my lifestyle and daily regime:
Adding certain oils to my filtered water to drink daily for additional cleansing benefits, or a drop in my cooking for the high antioxidants. Using Peppermint before my workouts for focus, a pep-up and to aid better breathing. Lavender to help wind me down each night, Fennel and Peppermint for keeping my tummy happy, On Guard for staying healthy come flu season, or grounding + calming blends like Balance or Peace for when things are feeling too much.
Having all these now at my fingertips is life changing, adding another layer to everything I already do for my health, in teeny tiny convenient little bottles.

2. As for first port of call for first aid in the home.

Our home does not have any nurofen or panadol, anti-histamines, antiseptics, Vicks vaporub, Aeroguard, Dettol, Betadine, Stop Itch, you name it... and I have not bought any in years and years. I refuse to buy them for my health and my families health, but also because I don't need them. Mama Nature already has them for us. Most medicines today were once created from herbs and plants, then of course created synthetically by companies to make money, which in turn has made us sicker and contributed to the toxic loads many of us now have accumulated in our bodies.

So if there is a runny or snotty nose in our home, insect bites or stings, bruises, cuts, scrapes, a sore neck or tight muscles, fatigued legs, a high temperature, inability to fall asleep, crazy emotions running high, teething pains, or anything else super common... the oils are the first things I turn too and start using pronto! It's easy now. They are in my kitchen, living room, bathroom, office and handbag. There's no excuse. And our body knows what to do with these when we use them (topically, aromatically or internally). I'm not putting toxic ingredients into or on my litttle boys body for his liver to then have to process. And this is so empowering as a mamma.

3. Swapping out toxic cleaning products

Did you know that according to the United States Environmental Protection Agency, the air inside a typical home is 200–500 percent more polluted than the air outside mainly due to toxic household cleaning products!!! And that younger children have higher respiratory rates than adults, therefore they absorb more air contaminants per unit of weight, meaning they experience a higher inhaled dose. Those stats alone should be enough for you to ditch any toxic cleaning products you may have in your home right now! Many household cleaners contain toxic chemicals (that have not necessarily been tested for safety) that may cause short-term and long-term health problems when you use them (skin aggravation and issues, breathing difficulty, additional liver load, potentially poisonous, just to name a few) so imagine what might be happening to our kids health without them being able to express how they are feeling.

Instead, you can make your own cleaning products as I have done using pure and powerful essential oils. A drop of lemon can clean, deodorise, degrease and wipe your kitchen bench top down (also leaving it smelling fabulous). On Guard is best used for tougher cleaning and if you have mould spots. Peppermint and spearmint ward off ants and bugs. They are so simple and what you can make with these oils and a few staples like bicarb, salt, vinegar, castille soap and citric acid will blow your mind. And if your little kids find them and get into them, you wont have to be rushing to the emergency department or call poisons hotline. Again, mama empowerment!

4. Eliminating toxic skincare products

This was hard for me for a long time suffering from acne, but I had decided to give au naturale a go as nothing was really working for me anyway. And I have to say, my skin has never looked as good as it does now. For the same reasons I don't use toxic cleaning products, I don't use toxic skincare items. But it's probably even more importantly really... as our skin is our largest organ and it absorbs everything we put on it! According to the Environmental Working Group, the average woman applies 168 chemicals to her body before she even leaves the house of a morning! This is from skincare, haircare, and perfumes mainly. Read that again will you - 1 6 8 chemicals. And then we wonder why our hormones are outta whack, and we cant fall pregnant, and our skin is having issues, and our liver is congested, and our gut is messed up still, and our skin is dry and flakey, and, and, and...

5. To smell good

Come on. Let's be honest. This is why we all start isn't it? I mean, if these oils were still as incredible as they are but smelt like rubbish, I'm not sure I could honestly use them. Lucky for me this ain't the case. They smell amazing. And it's the smell that is their magic power. The one that can anchor in a moment in time, that can transport you elsewhere in the past, or take you to a pace you have dreamt up in your mind and ties an oil scent too. They make my home smell divine, me smell fabulous, and my car smell fresh... all whilst trojan-horsing in benefits for my mental, emotional and physical health too.

>>> 1: BUY RETAIL – doTERRA essential oils can be purchased at retail price via my online shop and the doTERRA team will mail you your order. This is the most expensive way to purchase doTERRA oils but great for a casual oil purchaser who just would like to try one or two bottles during the year. It’s super easy.

>>> 2: BUY WHOLESALE – The best way to buy oils, and the same way I do. You either pay a wholesale membership of $35 and buy a few oils, or this fee is waived if you choose to purchase an enrolment kit (of which there are many popular choices). You can then purchase doTERRA products at a discounted price. AND you'll also get all this:

✔️ Yes, that wholesale pricing I mentioned is 25%-55% discount on products
✔️ You can earn points redeemable for FREE products
✔️ You've got the ability to receive the FREE product of the month
✔️ A 1:1 Health + Nutrition Consultation with me to get you started using your oils and navigating the website for ordering when you login (tailored to you, your health and your goals)
✔️ There is no monthly order required (unless you join the Loyalty Rewards Program, which is what I have done to help build my collection, but this is totally optional)... you can in fact order once a year if you wish. No strings attached.
✔️ Access to a Facebook group full of people, info, tips, answers and more
✔️ Your own online account to manage your orders
✔️ You will receive monthly emails from me with the latest news, recipes, tips, tricks, and more!

After setting up your wholesale account, you have 2 options:

(1) Purchase an enrolment kit. The best way to start out, as these kits contain the most popular, the most foundational oils, with the most uses for your health and home. They are also without a doubt the most economical way to get started as you will receive an even bigger discount than if you were to buy all the oils separately.

(2) Pay a one-off membership fee of $35 and customise your first order with any oils, blends, or consumables you want or need most. There’s no minimum spend and there’s never any obligation to make another purchase if you don’t want to.

Follow these instructions on how to set your account up your own.

Alternatively, email me and I'll walk you through the enrolment process quickly and easily over the phone.

Once we've got all your details and first order in the system, you will then receive an email from dōTERRA head office with access to your dōTERRA Wholesale Membership. And a week later you're first order will arrive ~ Eeeeeekk! Trust me, it's the happiest day of the month!

And if you do want to share the oils (be it now or later)...

Well my dear...  I would LOVE you too! If you find that you LOVE the oils and start sharing them organically as I did with friends and family, you can take advantage of doTERRA’s generous compensation plans by joining the Loyalty Rewards Program (LRP) which entails placing a monthly order. This is for those who want to share the oils, and have the potential to earn free products and earn money. If this is you (and you can always work you way here down the track if you decide too), your wholesale membership also includes:

✔️ A free personalised doTERRA online store all of your own
✔️ A virtual office that tracks all your sales, shows you your team, the monthly specials and free trainings
✔️Access to Facebook support page run by our team leader, where you can ask questions and receive support so you can use and share the oils with confidence
✔️ Ongoing mentorship from me (emails, calls, face-to-face where possible), as well as from my mentor, who I will introduce you, so you get the leadership skills you need to run a successful business

If I sign up with a wholesale account, do I have to sell the oils?

Nope. Not at all. If you just want to use your wholesale membership to purchase oils for yourself and your family, that’s freaking fabulous and I am so happy you're here!
If you do change your mind down the track and want to explore creating an income from sharing the oils, awesome sauce too! Let's chat then.

What if I want to customise my order and not get a kit?

Easy! We can totally do that! The kit's are there for ease of choice as they are made up of the most popular and most used oils, AND you save money buying a kit, however you can still simply buy exactly what you wish.

What is the Loyalty Rewards Program (LRP)?

This is doTERRA's monthly ordering system I guess you could say. Just like everyday household essentials (such as shampoo or toothpaste), there are doTERRA items you may use frequently and wish to buy regularly. The Loyalty Rewards Program makes it easy to order those items you use all the time (without you having to really think about it if you don't want too) and rewards you with product credit points that can be redeemed for doTERRA products! As a participant in the program, you will immediately begin to earn product credits and the longer you participate, the better it gets, and the more credits you can earn – up to 30% of your total Loyalty Rewards monthly Points Value.

*Offers on this page are only valid for those who do not already have an existing wholesale account with doTERRA.

*Disclaimer: I am a doTERRA Wellness Advocate, I make commissions on sales and on the sales of my team.
