I whipped this up the other evening - if you follow me on Instagram you'll know why. I wasn't hungry, my tummy wanted no food, and a superfoodie hot chocolate was exactly what I felt like. In bed. So this is what I came up with...


You'll need:

500ml boiled water or a Chaga + Reishi tea mix
1 tsp cacao powder
1 tsp maca powder
1/2 tsp ashwaganda powder*
2 Tbsp coconut oil
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp coconut sugar or honey (or 2-3 drops stevia)
Coconut cream or milk to taste
2 pieces of dark chocolate

Brew up your immune boosting + delicious tasting chaga and reishi mushroom tea mix, or alternatively boil the kettle. Pour your liquid into your blender. Add the remaining ingredients and blend unit smooth.

* Optional (harder to find that the rest of the ingredients)


CACAO :: High in magnesium which is great for cramps tummys

MACA :: The hormonal helper if ever there were one (which there is... it's maca!)

ASHWAGANDA :: Another hormonal herb that works wonders

TURMERIC :: Anti-inflammatory. Need I say more?

COCONUT OIL :: Great addition when you're not feeling hungry but can still get great fats in

SWEETENER :: Coconut sugar and honey are both grounding and make you feel good, nourished, and like you've gotten a warm hug from Gran

DARK CHOC :: No brainer really. 2 pieces in the blender. 2 pieces in your mouth while you wait. It just adds a little oomph when you really want rich dark chocccie flavour.
