SUNDAY : THE PALEO CHALLENGE PART 2

Pardon my French, but I LOVE SHIT LIKE THIS!!! I was so excite to watch the second instalment of Mike Willisee's experiment following a Paleo diet on Channel Seven's Sunday over the weekend. FINALLY someone on national television says it out loud - that the Dieticians Association is sponsored by multi national companions (making shit fake foods that will kill us) which literally puts them in a conflict of interest... So you be the judge as to whether or not you'd like to listen to what they are telling you to eat.

It fascinates me that the Dieticians Association of Australia (DAA) send Channel 7 a very very lengthy letter, essentially saying Pete Evans and "his" Paleo Diet is a load of BS with no real scientific evidence.... Really? That's the low ball they throw? Is that not something that we'd say when we were in primary school?

Why aren't they saying Congratulations Mike! on your health improvement and dietary changes!! Good for you! Well done mate!! Like any other professional in the industry would? I think corporations like to hide behind the fact that they seem to think there is an invisible shield protecting them.

I know as a Qualified Nutritionist I do no SLAM any group of people for the food choices they choose to make (um... low ball DAA). I will educate them around their own biochemistry if things are going wonky though. Difference!

And the icing on the cake... "The Dieticians Association of Australia’s recent conference was sponsored by Nestle, Coca-Cola and Pepsico." Yum.

Oh and that one liner from DAA CEO Claire Hewat; "I urge Australians to become familiar with the Australian Dietary Guidelines (ADGs) and to seek expert nutrition advice from Accredited Practising Dietitians.” ... Yeah coz those guidelines are clearly working for us as an OBESE NATION Lady!

I will make it known here that I do know a few dieticians and they are fabulous. Likewise I'm sure there are some ridiculous nutritionists out there. It goes both ways.
But I will say that I disagree with most of what the DAA advocates and says.

Pete Evans u bloody legend!

I would love to hear your thoughts on this as I had a fair bit of banter over my my own personal Facebook page which was great to partake in and read.

So go on then, share your 2 cents below ...
