CALIFORNIA: MY FAV PRE-PACKED SNACKS WHEN ON THE GO

If you've been following me on Instagram and Snapchat, you already likely know that I LOVE finding epic snacks when I travel. It still amuses my partner ~ I've worked in health food shops for 5 or 6 years and am still a kid in a lolly shop when I see one! I walk on in, love seeing what brands are stocked, try and find new things I haven't tried, chat to the staff and check out the interior design! Call me crazy! But y'all know I travel to eat! And thus the inspiration for this vlog post.

Coco-Roons: Delicious bite-sized coconut macaroons that are so soft and chewy I dare you to stop at one. All organic and available in seven different flavours!?! They also now do mini-bags. I love me a little fat-bomb of a snack and these are divine! Always on hand.

Kale Chips: There are so many options over here but the one that I have loved the most is from Trader Joes. Raw, vegan and super light + crispy, the nacho cheese flavour is a special blend of nut butters, veggie powders and spices. Damn it's good!

Dang Coconut Chips: The name says it all ~ Dang! Although I can only vouch for the sugar-free lightly salted variety, I'm sure every bag is tasty, it just depends on your preferences. These are organic but without being properly certified as they are sourced from Thailand - and I totally get that being in and around the organic industry, certification is a whopper of an expense. Crisp and crunchy like nothing I've ever had before, these are crunchier than chips!

EPIC Meat bars and Jerky: My go-to snack. Every time I stop into Wholefoods or Erewhon (pimped up better version of Wholefoods) I grab a couple. The Bison one is probably my favourite but they do so many know it's worth trying them all - as they're all good. These guys use the highest quality meat available, and you can taste it. They've also managed to nail that sweet spot in jerky - these are not dry and chewy you feel like you'll break a tooth. It's bang on texture! A better option that a typical junky protein bar for sure (Square Bar doesn't count).

Square Bars: Team this with a protein shake after a HIIT workout and you'll be in Heaven! Lower in sugar and higher in protein than so many others, and it's VEGAN! Hurrah! And tastes amazing! And is organic! Seriously, it's taken this long for a combo like that in the market. 90% of protein bars as whey-based, and if not, they taste like shit. Until now. Made with coconut nectar, and no flavours or sugar alcohols, this is gluten free, dairy free, soy free and vegan!

Dr Loren Cordain Bars: I only recently found out that this company was on Shark Tank to get them started which is kinda cool. I have only seen these at 2 or 3 stores so they are easier to buy online. Made with egg white protein, no dairy, and deliciously chewy, these are a bigger bar so can easily be split into two snacks.

Justins Nut Butter: Back home, I only buy organic nut butters, and activated ones where I can. Over here though, the nut butter selections are INSANE that it's so hard to not buy so many different ones. And in fact, the organic selection is minimal. However, Justins nut butters are tasty and as I said in the video, the little sachets they do are great for a snack, whilst travelling, or as handbag-backup so you don't get hangry!

PHAT Fudge: Genius! I ab-so-freakin-lutely love this idea! It's gotten me curious to try and concoct my own version of this for home. I love straight up ghee and nut butter on a spoon as a snack but this is next level!
Ingredients: Grass Fed Butter, Tahini, Cacao, Ground Coffee, Turmeric, Cinnamon, Sea Salt, Maca, Raw Honey, Vanilla, Cayenne *All organic ingredients, duh

Dark Choc Peaberry: Coz who doesn't love a few little espresso beans covered in chocolate after lunch? ;)

>>> Do you have a favourite snack over in California? Or in Australia? What about Europe (I'm headed there tomorrow)? Let me know in the comments below and I'll be sure to check it out!
