So you want bucketloads of energy. Loads of it. All the time. Especially first thing in the morning. Where did that energy you used to have get too anyway?

This is something all to common these days. And for many many reasons. Such is why it's tricky to give someone a one-liner of advice when they ask me about this. Yes you should have energy everyday. Every. Day. Even in the evenings, although it should be tapering off by then. How come then so many people are pushing themselves through the day, everyday, with out it, knowing too well how amazing they used to feel when they had it!?!

I love a good Love List don't you? Bloggers all over the globe do their version of something like this, and whether it's a regular feature on their page or just a gap to fill when they've got bloggers block, I still love scrolling down through piccies, words and loved up vibes typed from someone I've never met (or maybe I have). It gives me a little insight into who they are beneath their blog design and niche of choice. For my regular readers, and any newbie, it's clear I blog about nutrition and health. But I also love to have bits and pieces of my life peppered through out so you know who I am, what I love and what I do besides eating.

BLOGGING AND THE PARADOX - COMMUNITY OR LONELINESS?


A post I very strongly feel to write today, but has nothing to do with food and nutrition. It does however have everything to do with blogging...

4 and a bit years ago I began my blog for the excitement, thrill, joy, photography and sharing. And I loved publishing my post every single time I did. I was never in it for the money (which I still don’t make from this), the fame, the fan numbers, nothing. I wrote for me. And everytime I hit publish, I sat back and smiled, and read it all again. Eager to show mum, B, my sister, anyone who might have been as excited as I.

NOURISH: CHEERFUL CHOC-CHIP EASTER COOKIES


Easter is almost here and I gotta say, living away from my sisters and mum, I’m not all that excited about it. We always did easter egg hunts up until we all moved outta home – although along the way there were requests to the ‘easter bunny’ for vegan eggs, then sugar free ones, only dark ones, even raw vegan ones (the bunny was very creative that year).

NOURISH: WICKED BREKKIE BOMBSHELL SMOOTHIE


This smoothie became such because we ran out of acai in our house - I know right - but it wasn't because we forgot to stock up. The Cairns distributor ran out for a few days. So that's awesome! B and I are working out magic and painting the town purple (berry)! And as a result this delicious brekkie smoothie was created.

WHAT TO EAT BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER A KICK-ASS CARDIO SESH?

I recently had the pleasure of meeting a whole bunch of netballers and chatting (albeit briefly) about sports nutrition with them. It seemed the younger players were very keen and eager to chat and get suggestions on what they could eat. Where as the older players (mid-30s and up) seemed to be set in their ways, not open to suggestions, wanting me to tell them that yes, beer is a suitable beverage of choice after a game, all the while not really looking like a thriving, healthy, happy, fit individual.
